Rare 1923 Token - First Immigrant Train to the Northwest 80th Anniversary - American Legion
A true rarity! A souvenir from the July 3-4 1923 event where President Harding celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Oregon Trail in Meacham Oregon.
There is very little public information available on this item. An inquiry with the American Legion produced a single paragraph from their August 31st, 1923 publication stating that the LaGrande Oregon American Legion Post sold these souvenirs at the event to raise money for the Graves Endowment Fund. An article from the LaGrande (ORE) Observer in 2013 also mentions a medallion from the event. There is also a single entry on tokencatalog.com.

This item was found metal detecting and restored. It is aluminum and there is some mild damage from corrosion. All corrosion has been neutralized. It is also slightly convex/concave warping from the middle.
